The other day, I made homemade burgers and it actually turned out better than I had expected. The patty was juicy, not too thick which is how I like it, and so flavorful. This is best served hot, with melted cheese and lots of yummy toppings. I like my burgers topped with lettuce, tomato and pickle and a spicy sauce, so I searched for a simple Zinger sauce recipe. Most of these ingredients are always on hand. Hope you’ll give this one a try.
Ingredients:
2 lb beef keema (ground beef)
Marinade Ingredients
2 TBSP Shaan Tikka Masala
Salt, pepper
Paprika
Cumin powder
1 Egg
2 TBSP Oil
1 TBSP Ginger garlic paste
2 TBSP Besan powder
Finely chopped Parsley or Coriander
2 TBSP Fine breadcrumbs
Method:
- Mix together all the marinade ingredients first. Then add the keema. Very important to mix all the marinade ingredients before, I believe it enhances the consistency and flavor. Mix it using a whisk, until its a very smooth paste. Then add keema, and mix it well. Let it sit for about an hour.
- When ready to cook, take a scooper, I used an ice cream scoop and one by one add a scoop of mixture into an oiled nonstick pan. After a minute or so, flatten it using a spatula. Cook on medium-low heat until one side is dark and crisp. Then flip and cook few more minutes. You can test one burger patty for salt. (You can also make ahead patties and place in fridge until ready to cook)
- Prepare the toppings and serve on a toasted bun. Add lots of zinger sauce!
*Tip: Using fresh ingredients always tastes better. I used fresh beef bought the same day, no defrosting involved. Also mixing the marinade ingredients before, letting it sit and then adding the beef and letting it sit enhanced the flavors. Longer you marinate the better.
